Filming

In order to film or take photos at Stone Mountain Park for commercial purposes, companies/individuals must first obtain approval from the Park. Due to the volume of requests for filming and photography on-Park, all requests must be submitted in writing at least 10 days prior to the shoot.

Media Requests

Stone Mountain Park welcomes the news media to our beautiful park. We are happy to share our news stories, photos, videos, and press releases. Our media admissions policy is designed to provide media the opportunity to become familiar with our unique landscapes, entertainment, and attractions that offer many angles for articles. It also enables media an opportunity to enjoy the park with immediate family members who might be traveling with them. Complimentary admissions are available to working news media in the following categories:

  • Print Media: Publishers, Editors, Reporters, Writers, Photographers
  • Broadcast Media: Station Managers, Producers, News Directors, Assignment Editors, Promotional Directors, and “On Air” Personnel including anchors/hosts/DJs, Reporters and Photographers
  • Freelance Writers: Stone Mountain Park also provides complimentary admission to freelance writers with written confirmation of assignment.
  • Complimentary tickets for media must be arranged through Stone Mountain Park’s Public Relations Department.
  • Camera and film crews (including still photography) must be escorted by a Stone Mountain Park representative at all times while working in the park.


Please email publicrelations@stonemountainpark.com with your request and proof of your credentials two working days or more in advance of your visit. We cannot guarantee delivery of complimentary tickets requested less than two working days in advance.

Fantastic Fourth Celebration

From July 1 through July 7, Stone Mountain Park will light up the sky every night during its Fantastic Fourth Celebration with a special patriotic fireworks finale after the Music Across America Drone & Light Show. Named a “Must-See Fireworks Show” by USA Today and one of Reader’s Digest’s picks for “America’s Most Spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks,” Georgia’s most visited attraction is the premier location to see fireworks in Atlanta.

Memorial Day Weekend

Stone Mountain Park honors military service men and women with four days of patriotic activities May 24 – 27.  Highlights include performances by the 116th Army Band, park attractions including Dinosaur Explore, Scenic Railroad, and Summit Skyride, and the return of the Music Across America Drone & Light Show followed by a special salute to the troops and epic fireworks finale all four nights of the holiday weekend. The park also welcomes those who have served and their families with free and discounted admission.

Latino Family Festival Returns This May

The second annual Latino Family Festival celebrating Latino culture and heritage, is set to take place the first three weekends in May at Stone Mountain Park, Georgia’s No. 1 most visited attraction. The festival is a vibrant and lively celebration of Latino music, dance, and culture, featuring a wide variety of live international talent including dancers, musicians, a marching band, all-new festive parade, and a massive drone and light show.

Easter Sunrise Service

The annual Easter Sunrise Service is returning to Stone Mountain Park on  March 31, 2024. This years’ service will draw thousands to hear special guests Bryant Wright and Crawford Loritts deliver the message at the top of the mountain.

All-New Dino Fest

Prepare for a prehistoric extravaganza as Stone Mountain Park announces its inaugural Dino Fest event dedicated to all things dinosaurs. This unique festival promises a roaring good time for guests of all ages, with a lineup of dino-mite entertainment that will transport visitors back in time to the age of the dinosaurs.

Lunar New Year event returns in February

Stone Mountain Park’s second annual Lunar New Year Festival will celebrate the Year of the Dragon. This Asian-inspired festival pays tribute to the culture and New Year traditions of Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, and other countries that follow the lunar calendar.
